Hunterdon County Making COVID-19 Test Kits Available to Food Pantries, Schools, and First Responders

1,800 Test Kits Distributed During January 10th Event

The Hunterdon County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 test kits to food pantries, schools, and first responders throughout the County. This most recent distribution initiative follows strong demand seen at the January 10th distribution event in which over 1,800 test kits were distributed to community members by Health Department staff.

Hunterdon County Commissioner Shaun C. Van Doren, the Board’s liaison to the Health Department stated, “One of the best ways to stop the spread of COVID-19 throughout the community is through testing, and the Health Department wants to make sure test kits are easily accessible to our community members.”

Health Department Director Karen DeMarco added, “The Health Department collaborates regularly with our community partners and this latest initiative is another example of working together to address the health needs of the residents of Hunterdon County.”

Beyond testing, the Hunterdon County Health Department is continuing to provide COVID vaccine clinics for ages 6 months and above at the Health Department offices. The Department is providing an appointment-only pediatric clinic on January 17th for those ages 4 years of age and older. On January 18th from 4:00pm to 6:00 pm, the Health Department is offering a clinic for those over 5 years old, and no appointment is required. For more information on the clinic offerings, please visit the County website https://www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/867/Covid-Vaccines.

In addition to traditional clinics, the Health Department is also partnering with other organizations to provide community-based clinics throughout the County. The Health Department also provides vaccine to residents who are unable to leave their homes in the Mobile Homebound Vaccine program.
