Residents Welcome Fresh Look And Outdoor Seating

Upgrades to the North County Branch, approved by the Hunterdon County Commissioner Board at a recent Board meeting, have improved the landscaping look and aesthetic appeal of the library in Clinton, Commissioner Board Deputy Director Zachary T. Rich reported.

Deputy Director Rich, the Board’s Library Commission liaison, said, “I fully supported improving the facility and because it represents the County, I believe it should be attractive and enhance the look of the neighborhood.

The fact that the library has trust funds that can pay for three quarters of the project’s cost demonstrates that Library Director James Keehbler and the Library Commission are very good stewards of donated monies.”

A resolution was also passed at the Board meeting which approved the beautification plan, including pavers and landscaping modifications, for the North Branch County Library. The contractor removed the old stone, tree stumps and weeds and built platforms for picnic tables and benches, mulched around the building and planted beautiful, new plants and grass.

Library Director James Keehbler said, “The North County Branch landscaping project has aligned the look of the library to the beauty of Clinton and the surrounding area. The picnic tables, and soon to be installed benches, provide welcome seating outdoor seating.

I want to thank the Buildings and Grounds staff for their planning and execution of this project.”

The landscape improvement contract was awarded to ESCNJ Murray Paving and Concrete, who subcontracted with Ascape Landscape and Construction, in order to complete the project.

The improvements to the North County Branch will continue with the addition of outdoor WiFi, the installation of a generator and an HVAC upgrade.
