In Honor Of Troops Killed In Afghanistan

Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners Director Susan J. Soloway has directed that flags at all County facilities be flown at half-staff in honor of the thirteen United States military service members killed by a suicide bomber while protecting the evacuation of Americans and Afghan allies at Kabul Airport in Afghanistan on August 26th.

Soloway said in a statement, “The brave Marines and Navy and Army personnel lost in the attack deserve to be honored and remembered for their willingness to serve in harm’s way to protect others.

We extend our heartfelt prayers to the families of the victims and also to those who were wounded in the attack.

This terrorist attack demonstrates the life-threatening conditions under which our Troops are serving in the evacuation from Afghanistan. It also serves as a reminder that U.S. Troops serving throughout the world always face threats from this nation’s enemies and their wellbeing should always be in our thoughts and prayers.”
